Andrew Halford

Andrew Halford (1953- ) trained with Shigeo Shiga in his Sydney workshop at Terrey Hills from 1968-69 and with Les Blakebrough at the Sturt Pottery, Mittagong, from 1971-72. After working for two years in the Sydney commercial pottery Florenz, he spent an extensive period in Japan under two masters: Shimoaka Tutsuzo from 1973-75 and Shimada Haruo from 1975-78. In 1979 he returned to Australia and took over Shiga's workshop. He is still making and selling pottery, with work exhibited at Skepsi and Freeland galleries in recent years. As well as the links below, there are articles about him in a range of journals. He marks his work with an impressed 'ah'. His workshop mark is an impressed 'O'.
