Bernadine Alting
Bernadine Alting is a Tasmanian potter based in Launceston, Tasmania. She runs the Underwood Pottery just outside Launceston. first with her husband, the late Peter Alting, and then with partner Rynne Tanton, for whom she was working as a graduate assistant at the Ceramic Studio, Tasmanian State Institute of Technology School of Art in 1987. For the past decade she has taught ceramics at the Inveresk campus of Tasmanian TAFE (now Tasmanian Polytechnic). She is currently working in thrown porcelain decorated in relief patterns using cold wax and high pressure water. Her mark is an impressed 'B. Alting'.
