Gillian Dodds is a Sydney-based potter who became interested in ceramics in 1968. She took a part-time course at East Sydney Techincal College in 1970 and has been working as a potter ever since, furthering her skills through ceramic study trips to China, Japan and Europe.. She has been a member of the North Shore Craft Group since 1970 and is also an exhibiting member of the Society of Arts and Crafts of New South Wales. She specialises in domestic stoneware and murals, using skills acquired in oil and acrylic painting to decorate her work in earthy colours, with bush scenes, native animal and flower motifs. She has entries in most of the potters' directories from 1974-1986.
