Roger Webb (1946- ) was born in Oxford and lived in England, Ethiopia and Egypt before coming to Australia in 1961. After obtaining a Diploma of Art from the Tasmanian School of Art, Hobart, in 1968, he worked as an art teacher until 1980, then took up potting full time, selling his work at the markets in Salamanca Place and through Tasmanian galleries. In 2002 and 2003, he was one of the artists represented by Despard Gallery at the SOFA exhibition in Chicago.
