Nic Auton
Nic Auton is a self-taught potter who made surfboards and leatherwork, and worked as an art and craft teacher, before becoming a full-time potter in the early 1980s. Based at the Legend Pottery at North Curl Curl in Sydney, NSW, he makes an eclectic range of functional domestic and garden ware, water features, bathroom sinks and accessories. He holds annual exhibitions at the pottery, makes commissioned work for clubs and corporations and has recently started teaching pottery at the North Curl Curl primary school. His work is marked with a painted 'Nic A' or an impressed 'Legend' in a map of Australia.
