Mark Knight (1955- ) was born in Melbourne. After graduating with an Associate Diploma of Art and Design (Ceramics) from the Caulfield institute of Technology in 1980, he moved to Hobart and established a home studio there in 1981. He is a past president of the Tasmanian Ceramics Association and teaches Adult education classes as well as working as a full-time potter. He makes functional and decorative wares in a number of distinct ranges including one with a crystalline glaze. His work is incised 'Mark Knight Tas' or impressed 'Mark Knight Tasmania'.
