Susie McMeekin (1954- ) was born in Mittagong, NSW, during the time when her father Ivan McMeekin was setting up the Sturt Pottery. In 1978, she began working with him at his pottery in Woronora River, south of Sydney. In 1989, she established her own studio at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains where she still lives and works. She creates simple well-thrown functional forms in stoneware and porcelain, using chun, celadon, tea dust and ying ching.glazes. Her work is signed with an impressed 'SM'.
