Robert (Bob) Forster became interested in pottery in the early 1970s through Carl McConnell. He lectured in ceramics at the Queensland College of the Arts from 1974-76. In the 1985 and 1986 directories, he is based at the Priest's Gully Pottery at Rochdale on the outskirts of Brisbane, making domestic ware and individual pieces using clays sourced from his property. The entries mention numerous one-man shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and other centres and the mark recorded is an impressed 'RF'.
