Ken Sadler operated a successful shop front studio - the Potter's Wheel - at Warrnambool on the south-western coast of Victoria from 1972, when he completed a Fine Arts course at the Warrnambool Institute of Advanced Education, until around 2005. He specialised in a range of domestic stoneware decorated with wax resist techniques and glazed in reds, pinks, purples, blues, greens and earth tones. Work to 1976 is marked with a painted 'Sadler', then he moved to using an incised 'Sadler' or 'Ken Sadler', sometimes with an impressed 'Warrnambool'.
