Javier Mucha was born in Peru and emigrated to Australia in 1979. In November 1985, he exhibited a range of thrown vases, bowls, etc., at Coughton Galleries in Hobart, some with reduced glazes and brushwork decoration, others with crystalline glazes. This work was marked 'JM' or 'Made Javier Mucha Tas', both impressed in a diamond.
