Peter Collis is a New Zealand potter based who lives and works with his wife Julie on the Waitemata Harbour in Auckland. Largely self-taught, although he spent time with the potter Neil Grant in the early 1970s, he has worked full-time as a potter since 1978. He makes simple vessel shapes decorated using a wide range of techniques including crystalline and crackle glazes, lustres, Egyptian paste and textured engobes. He has exhibited widely in New Zealand and overseas and has extensive experience as a guest lecturer and demonstrator. Work may be marked with a painted 'PS Collis'.
