Marymae Trench attended Thursday night classes at the Potters' School in Warrandyte from 1979 to 2000. Acquiring a potter's wheel, she made pots at home, mainly for family and friends. When she retired from full time work, she began a Diploma of Arts (Ceramics) at Holmesglen TAFE, graduating in 2002. She works in white clay, making a wide range of functional pottery as well as more whimsical pieces. She has been a member of Stonehouse in Warrandyte since 2003 and also sells her work through pottery expos at Warrandyte, Federation Square, Gapstead and McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park. Her mark is a painted 'M2' (M squared).
