Andrew Gibson (1962- ) was born in Melbourne and trained in the early 80's at Chisholm Institute of Technology, obtaining an Associate Diploma in Fine Arts, majoring in Ceramic Design. In 1984, he began working with Jan Lewis, at Table Top Ceramics and became production manager. In 1989, he set up his own pottery studio and started making exhibtion pieces, experimenting with the use of lustres, by mixing; different methods of application, and multi firings of the works. He is known for his simple, elegant forms, ranging in size from miniatures to large exhibition pieces. In 1996, he introduced a range of celadon glazed works. His works are marked in gold lustre 'Gibson'.
