Sydney-born Col Levy (1933-) studied at the East Sydney Technical College, then spent a year with Ivan McMeekin at the Sturt Pottery in Mittagong in 1957-58. In 1964, he set up the Bowen Mount Pottery at Grose Vale, and worked there while lecturing at the East Sydney Technical College part-time. In 1974, he studied in Japan under Yu Fujuwara at Bizen. In 1978 he became a full time potter and from 1979-80 was a member of the Crafts board of the Australia Council. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions and is represented in galleries in Australia and overseas. He signs his work with both incised and impressed 'CL' marks.
