Very large handbuilt platter of rectangular form with sides curving upwards from a flat base, bevelled edges and curving ribbon design on both sides in muted, speckled shades of pale tan and brown.

Signed 'Hiroe Swen' with the potter's two impressed marks.

10.5 cm high, 49.5 cm long and 38.5 cm wide.

In good condition, with two flaws: a 1 cm long firing crack on one rim, part of the making, and a small chip under one corner (see photos).
