Jan Dunn (1940-2002) was based in Waramanga, ACT, held office in various craft organisations, and specialised in porcelain vessels and slab forms decorated in smoked Arabian lustre, fired to low stoneware temperatures, and then wood fired. She became interested in Arabian lustre during a visit to Egypt in 1978 and also studied under Alan Peascod at the Canberra School of Art where she obtained a Diploma of Art in 1979. The last pieces she exhibited were handbuilt and had whimsical animal-like forms and a dry glazed decorated surface. Works may be marked with a painted 'Jan Dunn'.
