Rolf Bartz is a South Australian potter based in Hahndorf where he runs the Bamfurlong Fine Craft gallery. He studied ceramics part-time at SACAE (now the South Australian School of Art), then began potting full time in 1982, specialising in individual, functional porcelain pieces with carved decoration, using incising, excising, underglazing and sgraffito techniques. He has entries in the 1885, 1986 and online potters' directories, and was one of the ceramic artists represented in Skepsi's 2004 'Celebrating the Master' exhibition. He signs his work with an impressed 'b', or painted 'R.B.' or his full name.
