Marjo Jones (1924-2016) was an ACT potter who started working with clay in 1969, studying full-time at art school, and working in England for over three years in porcelain. From 1981-1983 she took the Associate Diploma course at the Canberra School of Art. In the 1986 and 1988 potters' directories, she was based in Farrer, ACT, making decorated work ranging from large bowls to miniature tea sets. Examples of her work in porcelain are illustrated in Pottery in Australia, 24/2:67 and 26/1:42. She was also a member of the Bimbimbi Ceramic Study Group. Her works are signed with an MJ monogram or painted or incised 'Marjo'. Her son Ian Jones is also a potter.
