Javeen-Bah Pottery

Javeen-Bah Pottery was established in Nerang, Qld, in the early 1970s by Ivor and Natalie Fitz-Patrick, as part of a larger craft centre. Ivor was a retired psychiatrist and potter. With fellow potter, Shaun Thorburn. he expanded the centre in the late 1970s to include a theatre which is still operational today. By 1981, when the pottery opened in larger industrial premises at Molendinar, it was supplying 250 shops across the country as well as the party plan business Natural Decor. Ivor's sons Ben and Paul took care of the glazing and firing, and Ben's partner Noelene Johnston worked as a decorator. Amongst the throwers employed at the pottery were Geoff Walker and Paul Bruce, who went on to found Cronulla Pottery.
